I know my n200 isn't a gaming notebook, but I'm not playing anything really demanding. The problem is performance is all over the place with the driver that comes with my n200. I tried a modded driver, but I'm taking a performance hit by doing so and it caused significant problems with installing vista sp1. Is there a newer driver than the 5/25/2007 driver listed for my laptop (0769A8U) that's from lenovo that would work?
An newer video driver is available from Intel for the 945GM Express Chipset. The driver version in my 3000 C200 (8922-2AU) is 184.108.40.20643. The newer driver version from Intel is 220.127.116.1126. Date on this is Feb-2008.
This machine has an Nvidia GeForce Go 7300 graphics card. The sad thing is, Nvidia spends most of its time working on their mainstream graphics cards, and very little time on mobile graphics chips.
There are however, third parties working on drivers for the community, and they often produce better performing drivers than Nvidia themselves. Have a read through a fairly detailed guide on updating laptop graphics drivers: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=204425
