Notebook battery is not getting re-charged.

I'm using a Lenovo 3000N100 and its battery is suddenly went down. Now if I want to use I need to plug the  laptop then only I can use it. This is just one year old laptop and not sure whats wrong with this battery?

Any one faced same kind of problem?

I have a 3000 N100 (type 0768-01U) that is 1 yr and 1 month old. This morning I noticed that the battery is no longer charging. When I plug the AC adapter in, the battery icon lights up for about 5 seconds and then goes dark. It operates just fine with the AC adapter plugged in, but if I unplug the adapter the laptop goes dead. I have seen postings on the Tech republic from users that have experienced the same thing, but no conclusive answers. Any suggestions on what to do? Did the motherboard get fried? Is this a software problem? Is this a scheduled event 1 month after warranty expires

I have 2 of the same 3000 N100 they both are doing the same thing. I have not been able to find anything else except this post.

I ordered a couple of batteries they will be in in a couple of days. I hope it is not more than that.

I have a Lenovo with the same battery problem.  Doesn't work at all.  I don't want to spend the big bucks for a new battery with no idea if it will fail also.  So, please let us know if your new batteries work.  I emailed support a couple of weeks ago but haven't received a response.

The only battery info I see there is in reference to the recall. I checked previously and this model was not included in the recall.

Ditto.  All of the help I saw was for a thinkpad.  I have an N100 and get no error messages.  The battery is recognized as present, but has an X on it and never charges.

I got the new Batteries and they charged right up..

My original battery only lasted less than a year and my wife's was even less. So much for Li-ion technology.

I have heard of battery test software i wonder if this would make a difference for the future.
