On screen sound volume / loudness bar does not display - G550

Question

Ever since I updated some drivers, the green bar that shows what your speaker volume level is on the screen does not display anymore.  The "FN right and left arrows"  sitll adjust the sound up and down - but I miss the visual of the loudness level. 

 

How can this be restored? 

 

Answer

 

The proper function of the on screen display functions for volume and screen brightness are dependent upon several software components including hotkey drivers, individual device drivers (video / audio), and power management.

 

Re-install the power manager functions - download the latest version from the Lenovo support site.
