All,

If you have a G470 or G570 with fan that runs at high speed or continuously even when the CPU temps are low, we are looking for a volunteer to send in a system for engineering to look at.

We've tested on systems we have, and as often the case, is not easily repeatable - to make progress we are going to need to see an example system. Please send me a PM and include G570 fan running in your title as I receive a lot of PMs.

Based on other fan issues we have worked on, they can generally be solved with a BIOS update. Setting expectations, once we can recreate the issue, it usually takes about 30 days to get an updated BIOS tested and published to the web.

I'll look for your PMs.

If you need a laptop to test, you can go into a Tiger Direct in NC and buy one off the shelf. After seeing the BIOS DSDT I can't imagine there are any machines that don't produce this behavior.

Why is there seemingly no progress on this well known, serious issue?
