Trackpad Disabled

Using a Lenovo 3000 N500 and the trackpad is not functioning after downgrading to Windows XP SP3.

I have 2 of these machines and 1 works fine, but this one the trackpad has the little LED light between the 2 buttons that is lit up.

I am sure there must be an easy way to activate the trackpad again.

An external mouse works.

On the right side of the laptop , above the keyboard are 4 touch sensors. The one on the extreme right controls the touch pad. Just place your finger over the right indicator and the pad will turn on.
