disabling touchpad on G530

I have a G530 laptop and cannot figure out how to disable the touchpad (which is driving me crazy!).  Anyone out there who can help me?!!!

Try Fn + F8, might work on yours?

FN+F8 per the manual is the way to turn off and on your touch pad. So if your FN keys work then it should work to disable your touch pad.

Not on the G530.  That is not listed as an option in my G530 Users Guide.  I have tried it anyway, but nothing happens.  I also tried uninstalling the driver, but the last two times I did and restarted, it seems to be automatically reinstalling it at start up, and I don't know how to overcome that.  (I know some about computers, but not enough.)  Sigh.

Is this the user guide you read? http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/UserGuide/Guide_show_1227257349619.html chapter 2 page 12 shows the FN keys page 11 explains them. Maybe you should install all of the latest drivers on the website.

No.  My User Guide just has Lenovo G530 on the front, not 3000 G540/G530.
