laptop (lenovo G460) going into automatic mute

I use a lenovo G460 laptop with windows 7 64-bit. for the past few days or so i've been noticing that the laptop would mute itself especially when im watching a movie or using some media player. I would get a windows sound after a while, now after this sound a few minutes later it would mute itself. Then i have to use the mute/unmute option in the keypad to get back the volume. what could be causing this trouble??? any help??

ship your laptop back to lenovo. mute/unmute problem was a "launch board" failure.

is there any way to diagnose the problem by myself first before i send it???

perform clean windows installation, if it doesn't solve your issue, ship it back.

i didnt get a windows 7 cd with my laptop.. and the laptop is not even a month old

use one key recover button ( shut down your computer, and press novo button to start it then follow instructions )

ps: before this, i suggest you to burn recovery dvds. for more information, check user manual.

Also, you can use an Ubuntu Live CD!

You can test your sound hardware to discard any OS related problem.

But, if the problem persists, so it's located on hardware.
