lenovo n500 laptop dvd rom problem

i have a lenovo n500 laptop in which everything is working fine except its not burning dvds however it reads cds ,dvds and burns cds....but it just wont burn dvds.....i did have this problem before and it came right any ideas on how to sort this out ........HELP PLEASE ASAP!!!

First try different brand dvd disk.
