lenovo v200; battery stopped but power management shows full

We hooked the computer up to the TV, when we removed it the battery no longer worked, however in the power management dialogue box it shows that the battery is full. Did we change a setting? -- we did try default power management.

Trouble shooting says maybe the battery surge protector was left on, turn the computer off and reset it. Does anyone know where this surge protector is on the battery? We took it apart several times, but never found a surge protector.

Could there be another reason why the computer would suddenly not work with the battery after having been hooked up to a digital TV? or any other reason that could explain why the power management box shows it as having 96% despite it not working? thanks for your input!

same problem but mine is a G230.

Can't find how I can reset the power surge protector for my battery.

Have also tried all steps of removing HDD, Wireless, RAM, Battery from the machine but no luck.

Also tried to press & hold power button for 30 seconds still no luck.

have ran out of solution already and unfortunately warranty expired just 1 month so very depressed.

I'm glad to see that someone else has the same problem with the battery. Certainly there is something that can be done. Maybe there is a downloadable update or patch to renew the connection between the computer and the battery, or some action that will reset the battery surge protector.

Is there someone from Lenovo who might tell us how to fix the problem? It seems pretty clear that the battery works but has gotten out of sync with the computer.
