permanent scrolling to bottom of screen

B570 laptop - whils using internet explorer, MS office and other applications, the screen scrolls to the bottom. It is possible to scroll back up by the arrow key or mouse but as soon as it is released, it scrolls to the bottom again. At the same time it is not possible to type anything - any attempt to use the keyboard characters (while using ie for example) causes the ie search or favourites to display.

This is intermittent - sometime the machine works fine but once this problem happens - a number of times each day - it is not recoverable except by reboot.

Anybody any ideas?

One idea, uninstall touchpad driver and see if problem persists.
(Windows will install generic driver when you reboot)
