problem when mic is pulled out from y410

this problem occured when i pulled out the microphone i inserted into the pink jack at the lower right side portion of the laptop, i immediately heared a sound like a feedback . i inserted the mic jack again and the sound disappeared, but when i attempted to pull it out again the feedback sound was also present.  in my desparation, i clicked on control panel, and serched for sounds and dsiabled the recording device which was realtek mic something.... and so now i dont hear the feedback sound anymore but im wodnering how i could use the mic feature when i want to place calls using my yahoo messenger .. any workaround? or explanation?
