Hello,
I recently installed W 7 pro, and nearly everything works fine except the built in card reader.
The first error W 7 reported, was a missing base device driver for PCI-bus 8,device 6, function 2 and 3. I found a thread here, to install/update the card reader driver manually, the error disapeared, (although the drivers from the lenovo site are from 2007) . But the card reader does´nt work, if I insert a SD-card, the the green light blinks, there is a systemsound and thats all.
Any hints ?
Is there another newer driver (W 7) from Lenovo or Ricoh which might work ?
Greetings

Did you try the one from THIS page?
(Ricoh Multi Card Reader)
If not, uninstall the current one first, and give it a try.

Hi,
I tried it twice, the first time I forgot to uninstall the drivers, as a result the reader read a 4GB Toshiba SDHC Card, but was telling me, it has to be formatted. This Card was formatted in a Canon ixus and even the old Thinkpad z60m accepts it. So I uninstalled the drivers and ran the setup.exe from that zip-file.
No other reaction as before, some blinking 2 or free system sounds after insertion of a Card.
Is it possible to use some drivers, directly from Ricoh ?
Greetings
Axel

Is it possible that the reader will not read SDHC? Only SD?
Do you have a 2GB or less card to try?

Hello,
I tried it with an 32MB SD-Card, with the same result.

No updates concerning hardware.
I´ll try to get some other cards and test if it reads any kind of them.
Maybe the hardware is defective.

Axel_s,
Prior to migrating to Windows 7 did you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor?
To determine if your current computer configuration will be compatible with Windows 7 please go to the following link: http://tinyurl.com/no4xb7
Another resource to verify compatibility is available at the Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center located at the following link: http://bit.ly/1gW6Ns

I did so in , the result concerning Windows 7 32bit was:
Ricoh Memory Stick Host Controller Status:Check Windows Update
Ricoh OHCI-konformer IEEE 1394-Hostcontroller Status:Compatible
Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller Status:Check Windows Update
Ricoh xD-Picture Card Controller: Status:Check Windows Update
(All were checked in green, so I did´nt worry at that time)
I tried some other cards, none of them recognized.
Greetings
PS: Before rolling back Windows 7 to scrubby Vista, I´ll get me an external cardreader.
