Corrupted Bootloader and Root on J200

I have j200 Desktop with Vista Basic and Dual Boot linux.
In the last week the Bootloader and Root have been corrupted.
I do not want to bring the computer back to Factory Stage!
What Should I do?
The NTFS Partitions are there but not bootable.
Vista was pre-installed and I do not have a Vista DVD.

hello sam

are you saying that you dont have a vista dvd?
to fix the MBR of your system you will need to have one any vista DVD will do.just boot with the dvd and when setup starts select the option  "REPAIR THIS COMPUTER" then go to the recovery environment and choose the option to check for errors in drive c
your MBR should be fixed

i was merely explaining you the way in which you can solve your problem its not my business whether you have the vista dvd or not

Problem not solved yet. Partitions exist but Vista not bootable yet even after contacting IBM-LENOVO Support in Israel.

At Present I have two "Microsoft Free" Computers,

One Old Packard Bell with limited Memory. Ubuntu 8.04.

Two Lenovo J200 with Ubuntu 8.04.01, Kubuntu 8.04.1 Mandriva a little Stuck.

No Point Now going back to "Factory State".
