In the last month I have had a lot of trouble with DVD/CD Combo Drive.
When I do a Fresh Install from DVD or CD there is no Problem, But when I want to Play DVD then it Stalls usually using Ubuntu and VLC.
How can I check it Online?
We had severe Dusty weather two Weeks ago.
But I am not sure what Problem is.
Thanks

As I understand your laptop DVD drive cannot read the discs.
You may uninstall the DVD drive driver from the device manager and restart the system.
After the laptop restart it will take the fresh driver and then you can try using the discs.
If the issue persist then you can contact the support centre if the laptop is in warranty as it could be issue with the drive.

Hi Samuel Cohen,
In Device Manager, go to the IDE or SATA controller where the drive is attached and make sure it is in DMA mode.
You can also benchmark and test the drive with cdspeed . It will also test DVDs. There's a 30 day free trial.
