New computer freezes up

I have a k330b I bought this two weeks ago,it freezes up and is so slow for a 6 gigabyte I called Charter cause Im at the lowest speed they have they told me to up the speed .and they are bringing out a modem for it but what it causing the freezing up at this early stage?

ps and it also has a pop up saying security warning about http how can Iget out of it?
