PC2-4200/533 Hz's memory or PC2-5300/667 Hz's memory

My PC came with the PC2-4200/533 Hz's memory and I believe that is what my PC supports. But I have seen some memory finders suggesting the PC2-5300/667 Hz's memory. Is there any advantage as far as my PC goes for the faster memory? Or does my machine see them as both the same and will run the memory at the slower speed?

Unless your board supports the the PC2-5300 there would be no speed increase, but it will still work in your computer system but only 533 mhz. But you should remembe that the older PC2-4200 ram module are extremely rare now, and is quite a lot more expensive than the 667mhz/800mhz modules, so you should weigh up the differences in pricing before you decide to job in the deep end.
