Question
Went to do a clean install of Windows 7. Chose to delete the existing partitions. (From Vista Home to Win 7 Home Premium 64bit). Install said it would reboot a couple of times.
I wiped the partitions, and watched as Win 7 started to install files. I walked away for a bit. Coming back I saw that the PC had rebooted, booted off the CD and took me back to the upgrade or install menu.
Now I cannot install onto the drive. I get a message indicating Windows cannot install on this drive. Check the BIOS settings to ensure this controller can boot this drive (or something like this).
I've tried wiping the partitions and attempted to create new with the same result.
Followup:
Trying to install Vista Home Premium 32Bit. Tried HD setting of AHCI, IDE/Enh, and IDE/Compat. All attempts say "Computer's h/w may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
If I attempt to continue, I get the following message:
"Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation"
