Multitouch - Is it any use?

Hi all,

What is multitouch actually useful for? Is it a bit of a gimmick, or does it really add to the user experience?

Newbie here - I've basically ended up here as I'm considering buying an X201T. I'm a self-employed web developer and XNA games developer, so I spend a lot of time writing code. My currently laptop is a bit old and tired, so I wanted to upgrade.

I'd like something I can use on the sofa that's less cumbersome than a laptop, hence thinking of this here tablet. I also have the advantage of working from home, so I have been known to work in the garden.

Will I be missing much opting for the SuperBright screen? Has anyone here used a X201T in an iPad-esque, sitting-on-the-sofa-idly-browsing style?

Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is answered elsewhere... I did have a good look, promise!

the multitouch on the tablet laptop allows you to use fingers to interact on the LCD much like iPad, if you don't choose this option, then the tablet would only pick up screen input signal using the stylus (touching the LCD with your finger won't do anything).

Yes you can use the X201t in the manner that you describe.

You may wish to refer to the following link to gain further understanding of the multitouch capability.
