G570, Ubuntu 11.04 And Function Keys

Managed to get Ubuntu onto the G570 and have it dual booting with Windows 7.

Going from the Live CD the installation initially kept falling over until I had an ethernet connection to the internet plugged in.

Testing various keys my function keys 1-5 appear to work however the Fn F6 (Disable touchpad) doesnt do anything.

Anybody got any experience of this or enabling/ programming the other Fn keys in Linux?

I confirm on g470 ,

I tested using xev , moost keys seems to work but not Fn+F5

while Fn+F4 shows :

KeyRelease event, serial 35, synthetic NO, window 0x2e00001,
root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 26891886, (333,231), root335,321),
state 0x0, keycode 246 (keysym 0x1008ff95, XF86WLAN), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XFilterEvent returns: False
