I get this wired message after installing Ubuntu 12.04 - IdeaPad - V570

Ubuntu install must have failed.

The PXE ROM is trying to boot from a network,
since hard drive boot failed.

Thanks for your replay. But ubuntu installation was successfully finished . And another information, I can not install windows and change bios setting to default now. It's a big big problem. Please lead me to the solution!!!!

Try this:

Remove hard drive and see if you can boot to BIOS.
Set to boot from DVD/Optical drive First.
(Or usb if you are installing from a usb drive)

Put hard drive back, and boot Windows or Linux,
I think the Ubuntu install screwed up the hard drive

boot sectorsand you may have to erase it and start over.

If you can't boot with the hard drive in after changing BIOS,

It should be erased  when attached to another computer.

Ok, I removed the hard drive and I got to BIOS  and I changed the setting restore to default. When I try to save I get this message: (By the way i get this message too with the hard drive installed).

I pressed ENTER and I keep getting the previous message. 

I  also trying to rest the CIMOS battery opening the back cover(opining the back cover is very hard) but I can not found the battery the whole day. Where is located can I get the architecture where the CIMOS battery is located on Lenovo-V570? 

Please let me know if there is anything I have to try it.

I am sorry, but I would recommend contacting Lenovo support
for warranty service.

I'm from Ethiopia and i received that laptop from USA and i can not contact Lenovo support from here to there. But please answer me one question, where is CIMOS batter?????

I do not know, but if you can not see it after

removing bottom panel, laptop would need to

be disassembled to reach it, and it may not be removeable.

Hi achu,

The hardware manual doesn't even mention the CMOS battery, but it does have the drawing below that shows something that might be the battery.  That part of the HMM is talking about accessing the heat-sink assembly.  If you want to see if it's really the battery, follow the instructions in the HMM to access that area.

If the drawing is correct, that is a battery that unplugs.
It would be on the bottom of the motherboard, and laptop
would need to be disassembled completely, and
motherboard removed to access, if you cannot reach it
from the memory compartment area.

Nice find Z, I did not think there was a HMM for x570 models.

Any ideas on the BIOS not saving settings?
Maybe something to do with UEFI?
I have not seen that before.
