ubuntu is simply great its compiz effects are eye candy and synaptic package manager waorks like a breeze

well
i find linux to be more customizable then windows vista

compiz fusion is much more eye candy then the laughable windows aero

vista is ofcourse a memory hogging monster

on the other hand even even some old hardware is able to run compiz fusion simply gr8

I was finally able to install Mint on my Lenovo K100, I tried Mint 4 a few months ago but compiz wouldn't work with the video card that came with the PC, but Mint 5 works great with Compiz and everything. The only problem I have now is that there's no linux drivers for my TV tuner card, so I'll have to keep Windows for that and some other things that won't run in linux. But my primary OS is Mint.

yeah, i've been doing research on it for a while, there's drivers for older tv tuners, but not this one yet. I'm patient anyway, just because of that I'm not leaving linux

I only use linux at home, i use openSuse 10.3

Linux does not work for me in a working environment, i do databases a lot and officebase i pure crap for that.

Though there are alternative but i wont go into that.

I will NOT install any** linux version on my thinkpad at work. lol !!

Well the Vista was OEM without a DVD, Finally the Whole Vista Partition got wiped out, I can bring it back to "Factory State" .

My expereince is do not put to many Linux Partitions, Best with about one or two.

At Present Ubuntu 8.04.01 and Kubuntu 8.04.01 , Mandriva seems to be Stuck, Sun Virtual Box very good to try Live CD's.

With VLC I run DVD's.

These Linux's are Dangerous,

For the Umpteenth time I was installing Ubuntu 8.04 and it Wiped out the whole Disk again.

Kubuntu was clever enough to Repartition the Free Space of the Ubuntu to 50% Each.

Your experiences with Suse as Lenovo are with Novell

Ubuntu 8.04 has a VERY CLEAR set of instructions on the partitioning page.  Don't blame it because you didn't choose the right option.
