Linux support on IdeaPad Z570

Im about to order this laptop: IdeaPad Z570

It has to following specs:

Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 - Core i5-2410M / 6GB / 750GB / 15,6" / Win 7 / NVIDIA GeForce 520M 1GB

I know that it runs Nvidia Optimus and got switchable graphics, now for this to run the way i want, it has to have the option to disable integrated/switchable and only run with discrete(nvidia) graphics in the bios, on a recent laptop i got, this option did not work since they told me that the nvidia card sent info to the screen via the integrated gfx.

So i wonder if anyone working with Lenovo or a Z570 owner with simular specs as above can confirm that this is possible/notpossible.

Thx!

Re: Linux support on IdeaPad Z570

https://github.com/MrMEEE/bumblebee That question has been out there for a little while now. The only machine on the list that is confirmed to work is a T410 but that has different specs from the one that you're looking at. So unless a user who has actually done it pops in here with an answer, your best bet would probably be to seek an answer on the Linux forums. Dave
