Thinkpad T30 2366 hangs when installing Ubuntu 8.04(Hardy Heron)

Im trying to install Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron on my Thinkpad T30 2366.

The installation procedure starts as usual. Everything runs smoothly until i get to the part with the partitioning.

I choose Guided, and i get to the next step, where i fill in username and password. And then i click next.

Partitioning starts and it reachs to about 15% then my laptop hangs.

Now here is something i would suspect to be a problem. I was supposed to have 768mb ram, when i got my laptop delivered, it only got 256mb ram.

I am getting the missing 512mb delivered today.

Any other ideas what could cause this?

Best Regards
/J

Re: Thinkpad T30 2366 hangs when installing Ubuntu 8.04(Hardy Heron)

The problem is solved.

I chose VGA mode during installation and it went fine.

And the worst part is, i installed it during the busride to work. :smileyvery-happy:

I heard the word: "nerd" on the bus :smileyvery-happy:

Thank you for your effort samavedam_vijay!
