I did solve most of the issues by compiling a custom kernel
cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.2.6lenovog470+ (root@lap) (gcc version 4.6.2 (Debian 4.6.2-14) ) #28 SMP Sun Feb 19 17:43:11 CET 2012
I shared previous one , happy hunting !

Hi suryak
There is no need to be concerned at all.
All your hardware will be recognized out of the box.
Test a distro in live mode without installing it, and see by yourself... than dive in installing Linux
All needed drivers are embedded on the Linux kernel... so do not worry.

Can you please explain what do you mean? What problems are reported? I can't go and search for every single issues people are reporting. (sorry) ![]()
Every hardware has it's own "personality", it doesn't mean that you will automatically have those issues too
and it is different from distro to distro, depending on the version of kernel a specific distro is using.
Too, I know that there are some solutions for the fan issue for Linux. But I do not know what problems are you referring to.
I know it's up to you, but can you first try a copy of ubuntu in live mode? Than you can tell if you have those problems or not ![]()

About ASPM , do you know how to fix this :
sudo grep -i aspm /var/log/kern.log | tail -n 2
Jul 6 13:13:23 lap kernel: [ 0.508496] ACPI FADT declares the system doesn't support PCIe ASPM, so disable it
Jul 6 13:13:23 lap kernel: [ 1.068690] ACPI _OSC control for PCIe not granted, disabling ASPM
