Re: Z575 - advice for Linux installation

Hello Bucz and welcome to Lenovo community,

Linux may have compatibility issue with this laptop mode.

However, as mentioned the relevant post you may try installing Fedora 15 64 bit.

New edition have more compatible system drivers.

Best Regards,

Tanuj

Re: Z575 - advice for Linux installation

Fedora 17 works with no problems out of the box with this model.

Make sure that if you are downloading distros from bittorrent that you are burning it to a dvd.

There were issues with bootloaders for a time and that was the problem I think. Since has been fixed in most major distros (however I have booted all major ones successfully on z575).

Common problem is the Wifi card. Only distro I have gotten it to work successfully with is Fedora 17.

Cheers,

Dan
