Availability of germany USB thinkpad-style keyboards

Hi,

I'm waiting since mid-December for my keyboard (55Y9017). There are 0 keyboards available in Germany. The predicted delivery date has been moved from mid December to first week January, 3 week January, 1 week February, 3 week February and now 1 week march. The date is the same for all shops since they all get the keyboard from the same importer.

Is it worth waiting or has the product been canceled?

Thanks,

KalvinKlein

Re: Availability of germany USB thinkpad-style keyboards

I got a swiss german one end of November. It has a lot of issues (too slow, "sticky SHift key", have a look in the forums), so I guess they are trying to fix these before annoying more customers. I still have hopes for a driver fix, but my guess is that it's a hardware problem.

Re: Availability of germany USB thinkpad-style keyboards

The main parts of the keyboards are identical to the T-Series hardware. The converter to USB may be the root cause. I have no idea if it is firmware-driven or hardcoded. I knew about the problems but these keyboards will not end up on my desk since i'm buying for another department. So using the magic of the somebody-else's-problem principle ...

Anyway, they have given up and bought something else. Maybe it is better that way.

A wise decision. What really bugs me, is that there's no reaction at all from Lenovo. This is a product for Thinkpad fanboys (like me), so why the heck are you ignoring us?

Welcome to the forum!

While there are a few Lenovo employees in here helping out on a volunteer basis, this is not an official support channel with dedicated Lenovo support personnel assigned to it. Instead, this is designed to be a user-to-user support and discussion forum. You may or may not get an answer directly from one of the Lenovo employees as there are way more of us than them.
