DisplayPort to DVI

Hi. I have a new ThinkCentre M91p USFF with a VGA connector and a DisplayPort connector. In order to have a dual-monitor setup, I will need to plug one into the VGA and one into the DP. For the DP, I will need to go from DP to DVI-D.

I am confused about whether I will need an active adapter or passive adapter. The symbol next to my DP port on my M91p has no ++ signs, indicating it is NOT dual-mode. Some information I read says that for this connector I need an ACTIVE adapter, yet  Lenovo suggests an adapter #45J7915 that according to a reviewer on Newegg is PASSIVE.

What do I need, active of passive?

You only need an active adapter if the resolution is above 1920 x 1200 (or WUXGA), while the passive adapter is fine for resolution below that. Basically active adapter converts a DP into a dual link DVI, while the passive adapter converts a DP into single link DVI.
