I cant use F1, F2, F3.. buttons

I can use F1-F12 buttons, if I press 'Fn' button + F1(or other), but I wanna use functional buttons without Fn-button. Please, tell me, what program I should download and install.

just to be certain, let's say if FN+F4 is to put the unit to sleep... you just want to press F4 without the FN key to sleep ?

Well, not quite that. For example, i have such a programm like "Total Commander". This program has two window and i can copy files from one window to another using F5 button(copy). But,,,, my keyboard dont let my do it. I should use F5 button and Fn button.!! I need copy file without using Fn button( i can do it on any other computers)

not too sure about this, but let's say with a browser open (IE / Firefox)

and if you press F5 which is the generic key to refresh the page, does it refresh the page ? also, if you press the F1 key, lets say in a Windows Explorer.. does it bring out a Help window?

if it does, it means the F# keys are working.

I cant bring out the help window clicking F1 button, Also I cant refresh window in IE, Instead ot than I activate other function(mute, brightness adjustment, volume control. I suspect that I need correct driver for my "keyboard"

How can I disable the use of fn for F1.

When I press F1 it is not F1, i have to press fn+F1 to get F1.

On ThinkPad Edge there is an option in BIOS to switch if primarily should be used multimedia keyas or F1-F12 keys. Go to the BIOS and change it.
