Removing safely from the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase

When trying to remove the computer from the docking station a message says: Computer can not be removed because a program is using the LPT1 gate and the device can not be stopped. As far as I know neither a program nore a device is in use. What should I do?

Re: Removing safely from the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase

kaase, welcome to the forum,

If you search through the forum, you will see that this issue has been discussed before.
If you have an USB printer attached to the docking you need to disconnect it first, it would seem that some printer services block the LPT1.

Re: Removing safely from the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase

Thanks,
I have tied several ways shutting down or removing the USB the printer before  removing the computer from the dock. Finally, I now shut down the computer and remove it only after that from the dock. The allert shows always when I try to remove the computer without shuting it first down.

Re: Removing safely from the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase

My solution for this problem was to disable the parallel port in BIOS.
