I have just this week received a mouse/keyboard combination as has one of my colleagues and we are both unable to get the keyboard to work. Mouse works fine.
The keyboard model is: KBRF3971, FRU P/N: 03X8201.

Press the F2, F3, and F4 keys at the same time.
Put the batteries in the battery compartment and close the cover.
Release the F2, F3, and F4 keys and press 3 key one time.
Keyboard will be successful in pairing with the receiver
worked first time for me many thanks for the tip

I'm not sure whether the F2-F3-F4 instructions were the solution, but after trying these instructions to no avail, I IMMEDIATELY:
1) removed the USB receiver
2) turned off the mouse and took the batteries out
3) put the mouse batteries back in
4) [Maybe took out the batteries from the keyboard and put them back in - I'm sorry about this step, I just can't remember]
4) plugged in the USB receiver
5) turned on the mouse
and voila! The wireless keyboard worked.
Hope this helps.

So tired of wasting my time trying to get this keyboard to work. Have today received a replacement brand new combo from Lenovo (very quickly thank you to your service department) BUT same problem - mouse works, keyboard doesn't. Tried all the suggestions in this chain but still no joy. Can anyone suggest anything else? I have def not confused the dongle / keyboard / mouse and the keyboard does not have a connect, reset or on button which doesn't leave me with much choice. i've installed and reinsstalled the softwrae provided with the original device. Device manager tells me that the hardware is working properly . . . hmm interesting definition of working. Can anyone help???

Fabulous! It actually works, I was specially worried the keyboard wouldn't be compatible with Ubuntu (Linux)... but it is working now, thank you!

I still can't get my keyboard and mouse and dongle working!
I tried the F2, F3, F4 thing.
I took batteries out of mouse and keyboard, and also took out dongle. Then put all back.
But still NOT working.
My batteries are good.
Very frustrated !!
The S/N # on the mouse is 440XXXX and it matches the keyboard.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hi.
I tried the F2,F3,F4 method, but no success.
Then i removed the battery from the mouse, and pressed F2,F3,F4 to try this method again, and suddenly the keyboard worked!
I put the batteries in the mouse again, and all worked...
