x200 ultrabase to HDTV

Hi all,

I have a x200 and a ultrabase. I am wondering what would be the best way to connect it to my HDTV so that I have the highest quality video and audio possible coming out of the TV.

I found these two threads while searching for an answer:

The second one clearly explains a few different ways to hook it up but I was wondering if you know what form of video quality I would get from the VGA or Displayport options? Also it says that audio out is not supported over displayport for the ultrabase, but I found this thread (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T410-T510-DisplayPort-features-audio/td-p/1...) stating that audio out works for the T410/T510. Has this since been updated so that the x200 ultrabase allows for audio out over displayport?

Hello mate,

I would definitly connect a HDTV via DisplayPort. DispalyPort has the same quality as HDMI. For the sound I don't known in the post you've linked it was apparently a cable problem.

The X200 doesn't support sound through Displayport, due to hardware limitation and not a software/firmware limitation.

But your displayport on the ultrabase should support a simple displayport to hdmi converter, which is around 15 dollars on ebay.

I have a X200 Ultrabase with an X201T and I do get sound out of the displayport, I use a Display port to HDMI adapter and I do get the sound out on my home cinema. Just checked but there is no brand name on the adapter, amp is pioneer LX90

X200/t doesn't support audio through Displayport, while the X201/t Displayport does, it is to do with the hardware.
