R61 LCD brightness is zero (dim) on bootup

Question

 

When i turn on my R61 the screen is dimmed, and I have to use Fn>Home to bring the brightness back. When i switch off, brightness is set to 15, but on bootup it is always zero. This has been happening for about 6 months- before that, the problem did not exist.

Answer

 

This is the result of a power-saving option setting and can be easily changed.

 

Go to Lenovo power manager -> global power settings and uncheck everything under "dynamic brightness control".
