Hi there,
I have got into a sticky situation, while getting my R61 serviced, and need your help.
Is there a way I can find out what are the serial-ids of the various components, like LCD,battery, processor etc. if I have just the serial number of my Thinkpad ?
Reason : The service center team messed up the Motherboard of my first ever & only Thinkpad, and after good round of verbal allegations & accountability reminders, they agreed to replace it (motherboard).
However, the technician informed me that they will provide no assurance that all the parts of the laptop are the same as those that were with original machine![]()
They kept the laptop for about 45 days
, saying that the part to be replaced is being ordered/shipped , which, in my opinion, is a very long time to 'misplace' some original parts of my laptop ![]()
Please help !
Thanks
A G

Hi
You can go to the following link and put your serial number in. It will provide a list of the major parts.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Jason,
I did a look up & found the standard Manufacture Part No & FRU.
No information about the original build component serial numbers, though ![]()

You will not find the serials anywhere.
That type of information is not accessible to the general public.
I'm not quite certain that I understand why you'd need that type of info in the first place.
