So where is the number for the "award winning support"? I can't seem to locate it anywhere, certainly nowhere in the ThinkVantage toolbox which is basically adware. Hell the warranty section of it just informs you of how to purchase more time for your warranty. On this site all I can find is information on local warranty dropoff locations, but from what I've read that's basically saying goodbye to your pc for a month at which point they will inform you there is nothing wrong with it. So here are the major issues that I consider entirely unreasonable for a brand new pc (and of which I have never encountered before on a brand new laptop):
-Whenever I have it plugged in and charging, the entire system lags horribly, to the point where it is unusable. The SECOND you unplug the power cord all of the lag goes away however, and once the battery reaches maximum capacity it also stops lagging.
-The right speaker has stopped working two weeks after opening the box.
-The mute button LED stopped working one week after opening the box (this was just kind of annoying, but come on, really?)
-The Access Connections program is horribly outdated and does not work with Windows 7 64 bit. Repeatedly my authentication certificate to login to my private work network was deleted. Since I have uninstalled this program I have been using Win 7 wifi manager with no problems.
From what I had understood, the Thinkpad name stood for reliability and quality, and this certainly makes me question how that reputation didn't fall apart the second the trademark changed hands from IBM. I wish I had purchased something much cheaper out of a local store, at least there I would have the convenience of being able to talk directly to someone about these issues. At this point I have had the thing less than 30 days, it looks like Lenovo has a SEVEN day return policy with a 20 PERCENT restock fee, which is just marvelous, so I guess I'm stuck with it, I can deal with the speaker and the LED issue, the charging issue is a real problem however. The model number is 4403 - CTO.

I have been having the same lag problem with my i5 l512. Also, it has been shutting off randomly, even when plugged in to the AC power. Help?

My L512 lagged terrible when it was plugged in too, until I messed with the settings in the "Power Plan" tab in Power Manager. Make sure the green dots are the same (all mine are at 3) in the AC and Battery powered settings. Completely fixed my problem.
Doing that also increased my battery life by like 90 minutes. I actually posted a topic a few weeks ago about this same thing, no one else seems to know that the Power Plan settings are causing the problem. It's pretty lame that you can't change them to be higher without the system becoming unresponsive though.
