L420 - 7826A54: CPU Upgrade

Hello to everyone,

I have a Thinkpad L420 - 7826A54, the version with the i3 2310M cpu.

Is it possible to upgrade it to an  i7 7260M?

There is a version of the L420 with the i7, so it should work, shouldn't it?

Did you mean i7 7620M?

Should theoretically work. Same socket.
And if Lenovo sells one, a better chance.
(What model of L420 has a i7?)

But, there may be other differences in the laptop,
cooling, power, bios support, etc.

Best bet would be a i5.

 Oh, of course, it is the wrong type of i7...

Here you can see. You can choose it in the customizing step of your order of the l420 I have.

 

Do you know how I can find out whether it runs or not?

it should work with the i7-2640m.
