L420 USB Port Power Issue

I have a new L420 and I can connect an optical mouse to each USB ports and itworks fine.  However when I try to charge my Blackberry orHTC phone from the laptop I receive a message that statesthereisnotenough power to charge the device.  Are there settings or a patch to fix this?  I'd rather not carry around chargers when all my other laptops did power my phones.

Hello hwulforst  and welcome to community,

 

Few devices require the external power as power from USB is not enough. Usually mobile can charge from USB port as you may look for some settings in mobile for charging from USB port.

 

 

However, you may update the BIOS and chipset driver

 

Also, check using the other USB port.
