LCD Shows a Green colour line in Lenovo R61i

There is LCD display problem is in my laptop. it works alright but some times it shows a green colour vertical line infront of my screen and it hides after a short time. some times it remains for a full day and some times it doesn't appear. i asked to my friend about this and he said there is a wire problem inside LCD. can i resolve this problem to see manual of this Laptop?

any one who knows whats the exact problem? my laptop is 8932FDG Lenovo R61i  Thinkpad
Co2 duo 1.66GHz

That problem sounds like a bad connection to a column driver. There is a horizontal tape that runs along the horizontal edge of the screen, that has a contact for every column of LCDs. (for a 1200X768) WXGA screen, there are 1200 contacts. There is a similar arrangement with row drivers. There are 768 of them. Sometimes the tape failes, often from the screen being flexed or stressed. It can also happen if you work of the screen and don't get the wifi antenna wires running correctly. I have tried fixing this sort of problem by taking everything apart and pressing the tape to reattach it, but my longterm success rate has been poor.
