Hello all, I recently bought a new L512 off of Woot.com (they had a phenomenal deal). By and large I love it. However, I've been having consistent issue with the fingerprint reader. It works great for a short period of time after a reboot (hours, not days), and then simply isn't picked up by Windows. I can't use it to register a fingerprint, log in to anything, etc. In both Windows' and Lenovo's software applications, they report that there is no fingerprint reader connected/installed, or that it is in use by another program.

Hi Walsh416 and welcome to community,
It is sad to know you have issue with your new laptop.
Kindly update the Fingerprint reader software and BIOS then restart the system and check.
Kindly update all the drivers and software.
