MBR Error 1

i have Lenovo R61i.

I formatted Win, i installed Acronis Disc Director, open it, now i wanted to see information's of my partitions etc, but Acronis didn't want to show me anything, it wrote that disc is not initialized, and if i want to see information's a have to initialize my disc.

I made a mistake, and i pressed Yes, there were two options, i didn't change anything, a left everything by default. The process of Initializing started, and something went wrong, everything just stopped, not responding, and some errors pop up, a didn't have any option a only could restart my comp, i did it. And i received this message:

"MBR Error 1
Press any key to boot from floppy..."

i don't know what to do now, i don't wont to lose my recovery partition. On my disc there are two partitions, on one partition is image of Vista and i can restore my system at any time pressing special Thing button on my keyboard, a cant loose that... other partition is not important for me, on that partition is Win installed.

At first, dude. Use google and then you know, what mbr error 1 means

Second. Yeah Read first, then work. Why won't you loose your recovery partition? It's just a "image" of Windows XP/Vista/7 that installs it out of the box. Nothing special. You can all do that with a Windows DVD and the internet (downloading the driver etc.)

Next. What you have to do is

a) use a windows DVD (it must not be your own, it should only be your OS (vista/7), boot and click recovery options.

b) use a gparted live cd and look how much is "damaged". But should be aware, that you can do even worse things. So get yourself a little bit help from a friend. (btw. the recovery partion is 16GB bit... what a waste!)

All in all, you won't get around installing windows again. If you really need your recovery partition, you may ask the lenovo support to send you a dvd or replace your hdd.

yes, i know i did a mistake.

Why i don want to lose my recovery partition? Laptop is not mine, person who owns it want to have ThinkVantage option. She told me that that laptop is great for her, because she can at any time pres ThinkVantage button and start formatting or just recovering Windows. And i must admit that that option is a very great thing for people who don't understand much about computers. That is what i have to make it work again, i hope i will success!!!

I tried option a, but it was not successful, maybe i have bad DVD, i will try tomorrow with other one, i hope it will work.

I haven't tried option b, because you told me that i could do even worst, so i will first try  with option a, or maybe with something other gives me idea.
