Please help! R61 reboot-problem

I have always-reprodusible problem with R61, but maybe there is some fix or update to solve it?

R61 8918-5QG

OS : WinXP Sp2

Please help me!

Can somebody check the following steps with youre R61:

1. Start XP, and log on.

2. Press Fn+F4 to go into "Stand by" mode

3. Look at the screen, and when it gets black (but computer is still working - HDD and Coller activity presents) - close the lid

Almost every time with these steps I get reboot of XP

SET  "Power Options Properties" ---->  Advanced Tab

set the Power buttons as

1. When I closed the lid of my portable computers:  Do nothing

2. When I pres the power button on my computer : Ask me what to do

3. When I press the sleep button on my computer: Ask me what to do

then click OK

I remove lid-action exactly when I got the problem... but this did not help. Originally I had lock computer after 1 minute after closing the lid.

During my experiments I find out, that if I set "Stand by" as close lid action, then it is almost impossible to reproduce the problem.

And when I remove "ThinkPad Power Management driver" it is hard to reproduce the problem with any lid-action.

So now it doesn't worry me too much, but anyway will be greate to have some fix for PowerManagement

have you tried ThinkPad Power Management driver ,the latest version?

I'm using version 1.44, released 2008/1/31 and never had the problem.

Yes, I got the problem exactly with version 1.44

btw : I have intalled only the lastest versions of drivers and software from lenovo.

and one more thing - my configuration:

r61 Core2Duo T7300(originally was T7100), Ram 2Gb (originally 1Gb),  15,4 (1680x1050) ,Nv 140m, HDD 120 etc

may be the problem in more powerful CPU? but anyway MB suports it... and without Lenovos Power Management  driver system going to StandBy much more stable.

hi,

is your os also updatet. Xp has some "nature" problems with standby actions.

Microsoft offered some fixes in this regard.
