R31 pcmcia question

I have an R31 and the usb up and quit so I want to use a pcmcia-usb card  (type 2).  The question is what "type" of pcmcia is my R31?

The documentation says type 4. Does this mean that it will only accept a type 4?  When I take a look inside there are four rows of connectors two rows of female plugs on top, what appears to be a separator then two rows of female pins on the bottom.

The R31 got two pcmcia slots above eachother. Any pcmcia-usb adapter wil work.
