R40 PCMCIA - USB adapter problem

I bought PCMCIA 4xUSB 2.0 adapter and I can't run it on my notebook. Windows XP (SP3) don't do anything and I can't find it in hardware -device manager. Simply, as it isn't plugged in. I tried also with PCMCIA USB 3.0 adapter and I have similar problem. I can confirm that when I plug USB memory stick in USB 3.0 adapter, LED glows, but still nothing. I had in my PCMCIA network adapter which worked fine, so I assume that PCMCIA port is ok.

 

I updated everything which can be updated.

 

Help would be appreciated... I lost whole day on this issue.
