R400 Think Vantage Recovery not working

Hi. I have a ThinkPad R400 type:7443CTO

Well, I need to do a system restore to the factory state but the blue ThinkVantage button doesn't give me the option of a recovery. It did before but now it doesn't.

Can the recovery partition get messed up by a virus?

I can't get a recovery DVD cuz customer service won't answer the phone! I called 3x- nope.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

you can make your own recovery disc from the thinkvantage folder create product recovery media and no a virus can not mess up the recovery partition because it is not in the windows enviroment
