R60 mouse cursor stuck

I have disabled the trackpoint and trackpad in the bios menu, the usb mouse still fail to work in windows xp.

my problem still persists after 8 hrs. I enter windows safe mode - usb mouse, trackpoint and trackpad are working ok.

so it's like this

windows xp sp3 - faulty

windows safe mode - ok

recovery mode - ok

should I reinstall windows xp?

Yes, at this point it is best that you reinstall the OS. Lets see if that fixes the problem.

a restore should fix it ,normally if it works in BIOs & recovery its not a hardware problem its a software problem
