R61 Memory

Why does Levono advertise 4gig of memory max when it uses only 3?

Re: R61 Memory

whether it uses 3 gig or 4 gig is a Operating System limitation, if you use 64 bit of XP or Vista, then all 4 gig of your ram can be used.

Re: R61 Memory

Thank You for your response. Will the R61 Thinkpad run the 64 bit version of Vista?

It actually doesn't really matter whether or not you have the Santa Rosa platform, it's more of whether your Vista version is x64 or not. But to answer your question, the Santa Rosa platform is supported by the R61's (provided you have the necessary components).

Re: R61 Memory

x64 bit operating system need the 64 bit CPU to work don't it, Santa Rosa is the only mainstream CPU released by Intel that has 64 bit support.
