R61 power circuit broken

Hello!

I've a R61 (8918) who worked like a charm for 4 years... until now.

The last time I used it, it was plugged with batteries in.

After some time, I saw that the batteries was not charging anymore, so my 1st guess was my power supply was dead.

The laptop discharged, and that was the last time I saw it working...

I bought another power supply, but no luck, not even a flashing led, nor a charging power supply.

I tried to use a docking station to see if the connector under the laptop can charge it.

So, my guess is that my power circuit is dead. What do you think ?

Do you have any tip I can try to check if my guess is right ?

Do you think of something I could do to recover my laptop ?

Is this something that is fixable for less than half the cost of the laptop ?

Try without the battery?

The dc jack on the laptop may have failed.
I think it is on a cable, so replacement is feasible if faulty.

I tried with or without batteries each time.

If it is a faulty dc jack, why I don't any result with the dock ?
Is the dock using the same cable as the dc jack ?

The jack is fine if it won't work on a dock. The dock and jack inpiuts go through the same fuse and power selector circuitry.

Same problem here with R61 (8933). Did you already find a solution?

No, I simply will buy another laptop...

If I find time, I'll try to send the whole or the parts on ebay.
