R61e cpu temperature range and fan speed

Hi all,

I've been having some difficulties with my fan (have gotten a few fan errors on startup & it's been making odd noises). I took it into a repair shop & they have said it's fine. I installed TPFanControl today when I got another fan error this morning. I am in the process of configuring the software & need to know what the safe cpu temperature ranges are for my laptop so I can specify when the fan should start up. I have spent the last hour googling without success. My cpu is:

CPU Type    Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T8100, 1200 MHz (6 x 200)

Also, so I can confirm there are no issues with the fan - when it kicks in, what is the RPM I should expect to see? Please can anyone help as this is driving me bonkers! Big thanks.

well the CPU should idle at 50 to 60 degrees, and maximum temperature with a T8100 (on my X61) is usually around 75 to 85.

The fan should operate at around 3500 rpm at level 7 in tpfancontrol.

Just to confirm then - in my ini file the values should read something like:

Level=55 0       
Level=60 1      
Level=70 3           
Level=75 7      
Level=85 64
