R61i vga issues - no display - HELP

Hi guys,

I have Lenovo R61i, with Intel's integrated VGA. The chipset for the motherboard is Mobile Intel GL960/GM965 Express. I downloaded the chipset from  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=migr-67838 , executed the installation and installed the drivers. Everything worked fine, except the video driver. After installing the video driver, the computer restarts, Windows is loaded and after loading the screen goes off. The monitor is powered, Windows is working in the background, but there is no display, just dark screen. I rolled back to the last known good configuration and I saw that Windows removed the video driver.

Also, there is no stand-by option. I suspect it is the video driver that is causing this, but any other opinion is welcome to hear.

Please advise me what to do.

Thanks.

You have not mentioned which version of windows you are using

Select the appropriate OS and download the drivers from intel.com.Hope this helps

Sorry about that. I have Windows XP Pro SP3. I downloaded the appropriate drivers and installed them - the problem still occurs.
