Good Day,
I have bought a R61 Thinkpad with 1GB Ram. I bought addionally, but together with the Thinkpad, 2GB Ram from Kingston to
extend the memory. My question:
Is there any effect on the gurantee from lenovo when I mount this memory myself?
Thanks for your efforts regards

Welcome to the forum!
RAM memory is considered a CRU (Customer Replaceable Unit) and you won't void your warranty by installing it. However, your added RAM will not be covered by Lenovo's warranty, but by Kingston's.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. I was not sure. I read that this depends on how many steps are necessary to insert this part, how many screws to be removed. But now I am sure.
Thanks for quick reply
