my r40 with xp pro suffered a catastrofic hardware failure, but my hard drive was intact. i needed all the info on it and had not backed it up. a friend had an r50e he wasn't using and so i stuck the r40 hard drive in and booted up. all is working VERY WELL except, my r40 didn't have wireless. this one has always had it but now it doesn't know that it can. also, my video controllers are also not operating. i believe the video controllers are a driver issue. any ideas? this might be a tough one.

yeah, so i was wrong. i ran the application and the driver. i still have all the same problems. the reason i thought it worked is because it did something. but, by network controller is not installed properly. really, i'm all thumbs and not great at this stuff. i ran the stuff you previously posted, to no avail.

did you actually install the drivers, or did you simply unpacked them to the c: drive? Did you go under C:/ drive and under Driver's folder to install these drivers?
